Graphic and Printing Technology
Intro
This one period, one credit program is available to sophomores. The students will be introduced to the graphic and printing processes and occupations. Topics covered will include safety, typography, basic layout, design, computer operation, desktop publishing, printing processes, bindery, and job related skills. Knowledge and skills will be used to produce various pritning and graphic design projects such as:
Offset Printing - Note Pads, Note Cards, Postcards, and Letterheads.
Screen Printing: T-shirts, Mirrors, and various other items.
Students will also be involved in producing live work for non-profit associations and the school district.
Graphic and Printing Technology I
This two period, two credit program is available to juniors. The students will be given a broad exposure to the operations involved in the graphic and printing profession. The students will develop technical, creative and problem solving skills by creating projects such as:
Offset Printing - Note Pads, Note Cards, Postcards, Letterheads and Envelopes, Posters, Booklets, and Forms.
Screen Printing - T-shirts, Mirrors, Posters, and various other items.
Emphasis will also be placed on live work for non-profit associations and the school district.
*Upon completion of the screen printing component of the class, students will be eligible to receive two college credits for the Screen Printing GAT 151 course from Central Maine Community College.
Graphic and Printing Technology II
This program is a three period, three credit course that is available for seniors but consideration will be given for one or two periods with Graphic and Printing Tech I as a prerequisite and with prior approval by Instructor. Students will be able to further enhance their knowledge and technical skills by producing more complex projects and live work. The class and lab environment will be operated similarly to that of a small printing company. Projects and live work will be used to further enhance the student's skills by creating and producing multi color screen printing, offset printing and design projects. Such topics as paper, ink, job estimation, job scheduling, customer relations, teamwork and quality control will be an intricate part of the program.

Offset Printing - Note Pads, Note Cards, Postcards, Letterheads and Envelopes Posters, Booklets, and Forms.
Screen Printing - T-shirts, Mirrors, Posters, and various other items.
Customer Projects - Project Graduation t-shirts, Technical program t-shirts, graduation programs, business forms, certificates and awards, and letterhead and envelopes.
