English Instructor and Curriculum Integrator 

Oxford Hills Technical School is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the role of English Instructor and Curriculum Integrator to lead our technical English program.  The instructor will teach college level introductory courses to Juniors and Seniors that are dual credit courses with Central Maine Community College. The position also supports OHTS program instructors and students within reading and writing skills within Tech School content areas. Previous teaching experience and a master's degree are preferred.

Engineering & Architectural Design Instructor

Oxford Hills Technical School is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and creative Engineering & Architectural Design Instructor to join our team in this well established program, and continue to move it forward. Candidates should be able to teach students basic construction technologies, architectural history, design theory, design process, model-making, graphics, digital tools and other emerging technologies. This position provides an opportunity to share your field experience and training to a highly motivated group of students who continue their education in rigorous programs at post secondary institutes in the fields of architecture or engineering. We are seeking a candidate that is well versed to teach current industry software application skills such as Autocad, Revit Architecture, Adobe Indesign, Photoshop as well as others. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture; or related design field

  • Maine DOE CTE Certification Eligibility 

  • Demonstrated experience and success in the field

  • Minimum three years experience in field work and/or teaching experience; a practical knowledge of industrial, technical, and business operations together with first-hand knowledge of engineering/architecture standards.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with community partners

 

Performance Responsibilties:

  • Provides learning opportunities in the drafting, engineering, and architecture fields based on the occupational standards determined by the Maine DOE/CTE.

  •  Develops lesson plans and instructional materials to provide customized, small and large group instruction.

  • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to create a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.

  • Regularly assesses each student’s academic and social growth, maintains appropriate and timely records

  • Communicates with parents through conferences and other means such as , email, phone calls, and other electronic means to discuss the student’s progress as it relates to the curriculum.

  • Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members to help students access and benefit from the curriculum.

  • Continues professional growth through various means such as professional learning communities, conferences, workshops, professional memberships and readings, etc.

  • Selects, budgets, and assists with the purchase of books, instructional supplies, equipment and technology based on current industry standards and best practices aligned with the curriculum.

  • Facilitates critical thinking, problem solving and creativity skills.

  • Coordinates live work projects with classroom work to facilitate meeting goals and objectives of the curriculum

Early Childhood Education Instructor

Oxford Hills Technical School is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the role of Early Childhood Education Instructor.  The instructor will work collaboratively as the second instructor in this well-developed program. Job responsibilities include:

  • Planning curriculum for preschool students and instructing high school students to instruct and implement

  • Various management tasks including meal planning, finances, supplies and equipment.

  • Child screening & assessment

  • Preschool Parent/Teacher Conferences

  • Inviting Advisory Board members to annual meetings & recording meeting minutes in our binder.

  • Plan & implement child development curriculum for ECE II & III students

  • Grading and reporting for ECE II & III students

  • Arrange for job site internships for ECE II & III students

  • College/University articulation agreements and dual enrollment (master’s Degree preferred)
