Assistant Director

The OHTS Assistant Director provides management and leadership for 22 CTE programs serving over 500 students. This role includes curriculum development, student discipline and staff supervision. The assistant director also helps oversee the daily operations, business partnerships and ensuring programs meet safety standards. Key duties include coordinating with Buckfield High School and Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School to provide opportunities and support for students.

 

Qualifications:

  • Practical knowledge of career and technical education (CTE) and CTE standards is highly desirable and preferred.

  • Preference given to individuals with administrative or CTE teaching experience.

  • Excellent people and communication skills.Ability to work in a solution focused team environment both at OHTS and OHCHS.

  • Ability to use technology to develop and maintain appropriate documentation of student records, program planning, organizing various tasks and functions.

  • Applicants must hold or be eligible for one of the following Maine DOE Certifications:Assist. Building Administrator - 045 Building Administrator - 040

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of high-quality and comprehensive career and technical education programs. Assists the Director in monitoring and supporting the evaluation of current programs.

  • Develop safety procedures and monitor risk management protocols of OHTS programs.

  • Develop ideas and support a marketing plan including materials, both printed and electronic, that highlight the programs and services available to prospective students, parents, and the community.

  • Contribute to supporting, maintaining and upgrading the school's social media sites and electronic communication.

  • Work with student services coordinator to support the recruitment and admissions process.

  • Assist the Director with the completion of teacher evaluations and working with new instructors to develop their teaching skills.

  • Contribute to the Program Advisory Committee (PAC) members and with local business to provide career and occupational information and current and projected employment needs and opportunities.

  • Work with OHCHS and Buckfield Administrators to provide corrective action regarding student issues, including communication with parents, consequences and restorative practices.

  • Oversee student activities and student organizations such as DECA and SkillsUSA.

  • Serve as a member of the OHCHS Administrative Team.

  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Director.

Education:

  • Bachelors from an accredited college or university in a related discipline applicable to technical or secondary education.

  • Master's Degree in Education or Educational Leadership preferred.

Advanced Communications Instructor

The Oxford Hills Technical School (Maine Vocational Region 11) enrolls over 500 students from 11 towns in Western Maine. OHTS is seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to instruct students in video production, digital animation, and game design! 

 

This full-time, year round position will begin on August 24, 2026 and entail 182 work days of the school year through June of 2027. The Advanced Communications Instructor will create  a learning environment that encourages student engagement, creativity and the development of technical skills in digital media, storytelling, and collaborative production. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for working with young people, along with experience in video production and an understanding of digital animation and game design. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong storytelling abilities supported by professional experience in the field. Proficiency with camera equipment is required, along with a solid understanding of fundamental lighting and sound techniques. Familiarity with 3D content creation and game engine software is preferred. The position includes medical insurance and other benefits, and has a salary range of $48,000 – $72,000 per year based on the level of education and years of experience in the trade.

Career Explorations Instructor

The Oxford Hills Technical School (Maine Vocational Region 11) enrolls over 500 students from 11 towns in Western Maine. OHTS is seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to instruct students in our new Career Explorations program. The Instructor will be responsible for introducing 9th grade students to various trade industries, helping them identify their interests and strengths, and guiding them toward selecting a specific vocational pathway for their 10th-12th grade years. This role focuses on hands-on experiences, important employability skills, and safety training. Knowledge & Experience in some of the following areas is required: Cooking, Wood Working or Construction, Mechanical Repair, Outdoor Recreation, First Aid.

This full-time, year round position will begin on August 24, 2026 and entail 182 work days of the school year through June of 2027. The Instructor will create a safe learning environment that encourages student engagement, while effectively delivering the program curriculum. The successful candidate will possess a desire to work with young people, and be capable of coordinating diverse materials and scheduling activities.

Plumbing Instructor

The Oxford Hills Technical School (Maine Vocational Region 11) enrolls over 500 students from 11 towns in Western Maine. OHTS is seeking a dedicated individual to continue the tradition of outstanding training provided by our Plumbing program! 

 

This full-time, year round position will begin on August 24, 2026 and entail 182 work days of the school year through June of 2025. The Plumbing Instructor will create a safe learning environment that encourages student engagement, while effectively delivering the program curriculum with student earning hours toward the Journeymen’s license exam. The successful candidate will possess a desire to work with young people, previous experience training or mentoring Journeymen Plumbers, and a Maine Master Plumber’s license. The position includes medical insurance and other benefits, and has a salary range of $48,000 – $72,000 per year based on the level of education and years of experience in the trade.
